The best coat for your body type: H&M edition
Yesterday was the first official day of Fall. Breezy mornings and hot chocolate filled nights await me. This is by far my favorite season. Soon, the NYC weather will bless (or curse) us with its presence. I always have trouble finding the best fitting coat for my body type. Honestly, I never considered my body type when purchasing a coat. There are three factors present when I look for a coat: color, versatility and price. I have done some research to figure out which coats are suitable for different body types, keeping in mind price and style. I found these on H&M website:
If you're pear-shaped:
If you're busty:
- Single breasted
- Mid-thigh length or longer
- Avoid fabrics with extra bulk
H&M, 69.95 |
- Knee length
- Empire style

Vermont Fresh
On my second visit to Vermont, I did three things I've never done before: kayaking, miniature golf (I won) and went to an outdoor movie theater. Taking a break from the humid city was a fantastic idea. I never have phone service up there so I had a break from technology. The view and fresh air was breath-taking. Read my previous post about self care:

New Beginnings
New gal pal, Kat from katskull.com Isn't her DIY camera strap fab?! |
Thanks to IFB, I met a new friend and fellow blogger, Kat. It was lovely meeting you. Thanks for hanging out with me in a sea of the unknown =)
In an earlier post, I hinted that I wanted to take Charisma in Bklyn in a slightly new direction. I still want to blog about fashion and style, but now I want to incorporate self care. Self care is something I feel strongly about. I like the idea of it but I don't put enough energy into practicing it.
Healthy food recipes, exercise routines (my struggle), time management, balancing personal/work/social life is what I will be incorporating into Charisma in Bklyn. I like to toy with change. It's fun. Isn't life about evolving and experiencing new things?
My goal is to try something new every month. I will try yoga, eating at a new restaurant, meditating and anything else that will make me happier (and healthier) in life. I will tell you all about my new experiences here. I hope you share your thoughts as I am interested to hear what things you do to live a happier, healthier life.
Until next time...
xoxo

IFBCON snapshots
I took in quite a load of information at the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference earlier this month. Read my previous post here. Original content, finding and maintaining your voice, communicating with others are the main themes prevalent throughout the conference. These are all vital to creating a successful blog. What does it mean to be successful? Well, the answer differs for everyone. It could mean working with brands you love, increased page views, or it could be as simple as inspiring others. You define your success and that is what I have learned this year. Happiness is how you see yourself and feel content with the results.
Here are some snapshots of IFBCON Fall 2012:
I want to take my blog in a specific, new direction. I'll tell you about my idea in upcoming posts. Have a great week!

IFBCON - Day 1
Remember the contest I entered (read this post)? Well, I was one of the lucky winners! Ecstatic and nervous described me for a week. Part of the prize was winning a free ticket to the Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference (IFBCON). I have learned so much from attending this lovely conference. Inspiring bloggers, keynote speakers and the astounding IFB team, including leader of the pack, Jennine Tamm (author of The Coveted), surrounded the beautiful 82 Mercer location. Learning to pinpoint my goals and putting hard work into my passion is one of the things I took from this day. Future posts will include some of what I've learned of my life changing experience at IFBCON.
